After spending a month in Santo Domingo and then made a quick trip to Texas for a week, it’s time to continue the journey. This next chapter is one I’ve been looking forward to for a long time—I’m finally heading to Asia, specifically the Philippines.
The Philippines is a place I’ve always wanted to visit. A few years ago, I actually planned a trip there, but ended up canceling it. At the time, it just wasn’t meant to happen. Now, everything has come full circle, and I’m finally on my way. That alone makes this trip feel a little more meaningful.
I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Philippines—from its rich culture to its beautiful beaches. Almost everyone I’ve talked to who has been there has told me the same thing: “You have to go.” That kind of consistent praise definitely builds excitement, and now I get to experience it for myself.
One of the biggest reasons I’m looking forward to this trip is the opportunity to get my scuba diving license. After snorkeling in Bali, I realized how much I enjoyed being in the water and exploring beneath the surface. That experience made it clear to me—I don’t just want to snorkel anymore, I want to take it to the next level and start scuba diving.
Another thing that makes this trip even better is that I won’t be alone. I’ll be meeting up with my close friend Armani, who has been living in the Philippines for about a year. Knowing someone who already understands the area, the culture, and how things work will make a huge difference. It adds a level of comfort, but also makes the experience more exciting because I get to share it with someone.
This feels like the start of something new—another chapter in the journey, another place to learn, grow, and experience life in a completely different way. And this time, I’m not just thinking about it or planning it—I’m actually going.
